Fossil Hunting Walks
Join one of our guided Fossil Walks with the Wardens to find and take home your own Jurassic fossil!
This two hour session starts up at the Centre with a 20 minute talk from the Centre Warden about the fossils of Charmouth and how to find fossils on the beach. The group then heads out onto the beach with the wardens and spend the rest of the session looking for fossils.

The Centre has a high ratio of Wardens to members of the public on every walk. During school holidays booking is essential and we advise that you arrive 10 minutes before the walk is scheduled to start to pick up your tickets.
Charges: £7.50 Adult, £3 Child (2 years and under go free). All children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Meeting point: Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre
Site information: Some uneven ground with sand, pebbles and boulders. Please be suitable dressed for the elements and wear footwear with good tread.
This is an informative weekend of lectures and guided walks introducing the science of geology and palaeontology using Charmouth as a case study.
This weekend is aimed at adults who have an interest in fossils and geology.

If you have ever wanted to try your hand at fossil collecting, then join us for a full day of fossil fun aimed specifically at families and children. Our experienced wardens will be delighted to share their knowledge and experience with you. You have the option to book in for just one day, a whole weekend or a choice of two separate days within the scheduled dates.

Fossil Roadshows run on various weekends throughout the year and involve a whole day of fossil related events and displays.
Local collectors and experts bring their own fossils to display and are on hand to offer advice and answer any questions you may have.
