WHERE ARE WE?
The village of Charmouth lies on the West Dorset coast just three miles from the town of Lyme Regis.
By car
From Exeter – take the A30 to Honiton. At Honiton take the A35 to Dorchester past Axminster and along the dual carriageway towards Charmouth. At the roundabout take the 3 rd exit on the right, signposted Charmouth and continue into the village until you reach the pedestrian crossing. At this junction turn right into Lower Sea Lane (signposted the beach) and continue to the end of the road where there is ample parking outside the centre. This is a pay and display car park.
From Dorchester – take the A35 to Honiton road passing Bridport. Continue along this road until you see the Charmouth turn off on the left. Drive down this road into the centre of the village. At the pedestrian crossing turn left into Lower Sea Lane (signposted the beach) and continue to the end of the road where there is ample parking outside the centre. This is a pay and display car park.
By bus
There are two bus routes that serve Charmouth Village, the 31 Axminster to Weymouth and the CoastlinkX53 from Exeter (via Lyme Regis). Please find enclosed the time tables for these two bus routes. We are aware that the X53 timetable that is included only runs until the end of October, but at this present time the new timetable is not available. If you wish to use this bus service then please do contact the warden team nearer the time of the event.
By train
Axminster is the nearest town to Charmouth (5 miles) with a train station and lies on the Exeter to Waterloo line. The 31 bus from Axminster to Weymouth runs in line with train arrival times at the station.
