You can learn a lot by just visiting the centre but for a real in depth look then join one of the wardens on a guided walk or come down for a visit when one of our events are running.

The Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre runs various walks , events and activities throughout the year. Our most popular events are the fossil hunting walks and rockpool rambles but we also run geology walks, craft activities, plankton trawling and other seasonal events such as our Fossil Weekends and Marine Week. And don't forget our Fossil Roadshows that are held 1 day during most school holidays.

Click the buttons at the top of the page for a full list of our various walks and events.

Our programme of events now runs through to April 2009. Check the listings for dates of fossil hunting walks, fossil roadshows and of course our fossil weekends.

NB: All wardens are qualified first aiders and carry first aid kits, mobile phones and/or radios. Walks are fully risk assessed. The Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre is insured to carry out fieldwork and outdoor events. Fossil walks include a 20 minute talk on fossils. A responsible adult must accompany children under 14. Wardens act as guides only.

For all events please wear stout footwear with a good tread and be suitably dressed for the elements.
